Grant Petersen, bicycle designer and author of Just Ride: A Radically Practical Guide to Riding Your Bike, will give a talk and sign books Sundance Books and Music’s front yard from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5. Sundance is hosting the event with the Reno Bike Project to raise awareness and funds for the Major Taylor Ride Club.
Other highlights will include a family bike ride, live music by CW and Mr. Spoons, and refreshments from New Belgium Brewing, Bibo Freddo and Still Rollin’ food truck.
The Bike Project’s Major Taylor Ride Club is an after-school club that uses bicycling to teach at risk youth about physical fitness, nutrition, bike maintenance, setting and meeting goals, cycling safety and the environmental benefits of bikes.
Petersen is found and owner of Rivendell Bicycle Works. Proceeds from the evening’s book sales will benefit the ride club.
